How to Know What God Wants You to Do?

Let Go… Leave it in God’s Hands

God sees your pain.
He hears your cry.
He knows the confusion, the restlessness, the uncertainty that floods your heart when you’re trying to make the right move.
If you’re struggling to know what to do next, here’s the truth: you don’t have to figure it out alone.

Ask God for Wisdom

“If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.”
— James 1:5

The first step in discovering God’s will isn’t effort—it’s surrender.
You don’t need perfect plans.
You need a posture of humility.
Go to God. Ask Him for direction. And trust that He’ll respond.

Stop Leaning on Your Own Understanding

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”
— Proverbs 3:5-6

You are not in control, and that’s the point.
When you give up your logic, your backup plans, your fear-based decisions—that’s when clarity enters.
God doesn’t need your strategies; He wants your heart.
Your job is obedience. His job is direction.

Be Still, and Know That He Is God

You’re not just working a job, building a life, or solving problems.
You’re in God’s business.
That means you’re under His authority, His vision, and His timing.
So be still. Listen. Wait. Submit.

“The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him.”
— Lamentations 3:25

Waiting isn’t weakness.
Silence isn’t failure.
Submission isn’t giving up—it’s growing up.

God Speaks in Silence and Pain

“Though the Lord gives you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction… Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, ‘This is the way, walk in it.'”
— Isaiah 30:20-21

Sometimes God teaches through storms.
Sometimes He guides through loss.
You may feel like you’re alone—but He’s right there.
When all else is stripped away, that’s when the voice becomes clear:
“This is the way. Walk in it.”

Letting Go is the Beginning of Direction

Faith isn’t about becoming strong—it’s about admitting you’re not.
It’s not about proving yourself—it’s about surrendering yourself.

“When I am weak, then I am strong.”
— 2 Corinthians 12:10

Faith isn’t power—it’s positioning.
When you finally stop striving and start surrendering, that’s when you’ll know exactly what to do.
Because God never leaves His own confused. He just waits until they’re quiet enough to listen.
